Sustainable Start Lines

In 2022, I invested a great deal of effort into fixing Zi’s deteriorating start line stay. Now, after almost two years of reaping the benefits, I’m DELIGHTED with the results of that work.

In Sustainable Start Lines I teach the complete process I’ve learned and applied to develop a robust and resilient stay that I TRUST, even at high-pressure national competitions.

The goal of this class is to train a reliable start line stay that supports your success in the ring AND develop an effective strategy for maintaining this behavior throughout your dog’s career.

The process I teach covers:

  • How to use clearer training to build a stay your dog will be responsible for – no need to baby sit while you lead out.
  • Thorough generalization and proofing that build clarity and confidence instead of undermining it.
  • Skills and strategy for long-term maintenance of your start line stay, accounting for the common pitfalls that cause start lines to deteriorate.
  • How to trial without ruining your start line training, including effective use of NFC/FEO and Fix N’ Go.

Previous students say:

  • “Sarah’s [Sustainable Start Lines] programme is very well thought out, and detailed. Her eye for detail, and identifying training splits and steps is excellent, and her feedback is based on a careful analysis of the videos, and questions from her students. I cannot recommend enough this class – whether you want to train or retrain a start line, or just want extra tools and ideas in your kit!” -Sgian Dubh
  • “Loved this course! It was very informative with plenty of information for all levels to work through. The constant support and feedback was amazing! Thank you for improving our start line performance and for building my overall confidence entering a ring.” -Anonymous
